About Sanctuary One
Sanctuary One was founded in 2007 to make the world a better place by bringing people, animals and the earth together. Originally established to provide animal rescue and rehabilitation, the organization quickly grew to encompass a threefold mission to be a safe place for animals and a healing place for people while promoting environmental stewardship. In addition to providing a home to 100 rescued farm animals and domestic pets, the Sanctuary provides volunteer and service-learning opportunities for people of all ages, and practices and teaches sustainable farming methods in its permaculture-inspired vegetable and flower gardens. Sanctuary One is a cage-free facility and makes a special effort to rescue special-needs animals including the elderly, disabled, or injured.
