Victorian Christmas Celebration

Jacksonville, Oregon celebrates the holidays and our past with Victorian Christmas.  The celebration begins with a Merchant Open House & Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 28 and continues weekends from December 5 through December 20, 2015.  Some activities continue the weekend after Christmas - December 27 & 28 to create wonderful memory making activities for when everyone's families and friends are in town for the holidays.

The town is decorated all in natural greenery with white lights and red bows to evoke Christmases past.  But the activities will keep any of today's visitors entertained. On weekends there are pictures with Father Christmas, strolling carolers in vintage costumes, and hot cider and rides on the Jolly Holly Trolley.

And where better to do your holiday shopping - on the weekends or any day of the week.  Local shops are imbued with holiday cheer and everything you will need to complete your holiday shopping.  Local restaurants and tasting rooms offer special holiday fare.

This year we are introducing the Jolly Holly Trolley!  The trolley will offer on-off service at various locations around town to better enable you to see everything that is going on.  There will be a charge of $1 per person to use the trolley for the entire day. We are saddened to share with you that Tom and Curt, the horses who pulled our wagon rides for years, passed away this year.  We will not be offering wagon rides this year.

Be sure to make time to tour the Beekman House and check out Mrs. Beekman's Christmas Bazaar.  Tours run every 15 minutes between 11 am & 2:45 pm.

Located at 470 E. California Street in Jacksonville, Oregon, house tour admission the first 3 weekends is $5 for adults, $3 for children (6-12) and seniors (65+).  For “Boxing Day” weekend, tour admission is $2 with a canned good donation to ACCESS.  Should you choose to pay regular price, all admission monies collected over $2 will be donated to ACCESS.  Tickets are available at the door.  Bazaar admission is free.  Proceeds help preserve Jacksonville’s historic buildings and expand historic program offerings.

The Victorian Christmas Celebration is coordinated by the  Jacksonville Oregon Chamber of Commerce and Business Association which can be reached by calling 541-899-8118 or emailing  chamber@jacksonvilleoregon.org.
